Bike for Backpacks 2016 is here!
Tomorrow we gather as a team and drive from Denver, CO to Glenwood Springs, CO to begin our cycling adventure. A BIG thank you to the team at The CE Shop for all of your support in getting ready for this year’s ride and end of ride event.
Today we are organizing and packing our things, checking and double-checking our lists and making sure we are all set to go. In the morning our dear friend and fellow cyclist Terri Blattenbauer will arrive from Minneapolis, we’ll pick up our RV to then hitch up with the rest of riding crew to depart Denver in the afternoon.
Never having been “RV-ing” I don’t know how long it will take us to travel 157 miles to Glenwood Springs but I’m guessing we will be longer than the 2.5 hours Google claims for an average vehicle. I’m sure we’ll be good and ready for dinner by the time we get there! After a good night of rest, we’ll be off on Tuesday morning for Aspen where we will connect with my uncle John who’s been our advance crew member helping to arrange RV accommodations.
It’s going to be an awesome week and can’t wait to get rolling!
I’ve been humbled by the generosity of our incredible sponsors and contributors to date and look forward to a week of promotion and additional fundraising. Thank you to everyone who had already contributed to our cause, you can help us by sharing our posts via your friends and families!
PS: If you are in the Denver area, don’t forget about our end of ride event next Saturday, 9-17, details here: http://www.bikeforbackpacks.com/finish-line-event/
