This last weekend we had the great opportunity to log 200 miles along the north shore of Lake Superior. For the last 12 years living in Fargo I’ve been amazed at the limited number of people who take the time to visit when Duluth is only a 4 hour drive. The shoreline of Superior is very much like being on the ocean…a very, very cold ocean! We had just wrapped up a couple of days of camping in the Boundary Water Canoe Area with some of our best friends and their little guy Max (10). This was the first trip for Max, he was a trooper for sure.
Over the course of three days we rode up and down the coast from Grand Marais to Duluth concluding last Saturday evening in Duluth. That night we ate dinner at Zeitgeist Arts Cafe which was off the charts…some might say after 70+ miles of cycling the bottom of our shoe would taste good but this place along with our gracious server Hannah was truly terrific. Highly recommend the bacon wrapped gorgonzola stuffed dates!
We were grateful for the miles in such a hilly and beautiful place…nice was to mix it up from the flat landscape in Fargo. Do you suppose there are any shorelines between Fargo and Denver??
